ShotList goes large on the App Store

ShotList 7.0 update

Today we are releasing version 7.0 of “ShotList“, our video planning app that recreates a full production strip board on your mobile device to help organise your shoot, and to track progress on the day.

This new update includes support for iOS8 and 8.1, and makes full use of the larger screens on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and a few usability tweaks and enhancements.

We have also created a new App Store preview video for ShotList.

And a longer video, that walks through many of ShotList’s features. This video is also available from the Support button on the title page of the app, and we expect that even experienced users will probably find something in here that they didn’t know about.

We hope you enjoy the new update, If you have any problems or questions about the app, please contact us using the “Support” button on the title page of the app.

roundedShotList works with any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or above. It is available now on the App Store.

ShotList 6 Released

Shotlist title bannerWe have just released Version 6 of “ShotList“, the production stripboard app that helps filmmakers to break down scripts then track progress throughout their shoot.

This new version is a major graphical update, allowing many more shots per scene, with faster ways to add shots and scenes and duplicate projects, along with many other tweaks and improvements.

Here’s a quick round-up of some of the new goodies…

You can now store up to 26 shots and storyboards per scene (up from 6 in the old version.)

You can now rapidly duplicate an entire project. Tap “Manage” on the screen that lists your project names, and drag the project you wish to duplicate onto the red bar that appears.

90mmThe Details page can now show many more shots in a  swipe-able thumbnail strip. Swipe left or right to see all the shots (up and down in landscape mode.) Double-tap to toggle completion status on a shot, single-tap a shot to view it.

You can now see shots on the iPhone Details page in landscape mode, too.

You can add a new blank scene from the Details page, by tapping “+” on the menu bar. It will be inserted after the current scene.

The Gallery page now lets you view all the shots for your scenes as a collection.

The controls here have also changed a little, they now are:

90mm

  • Tap a shot, to edit its details or storyboard image.
  • Double-tap a shot, to set or clear the completion status
  • Tap and drag a shot, to rearrange the shooting order.
  • Tap the “+” image to create a new shot
  • swipe up or down to see other scenes.

The shot page will now offer to create a new shot if you swipe past the last in the current scene

Scene lengths are now shown as pages and eighths throughout- not as irregular fractions of eighths of a page.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The change in number of shots meant that a new file format was required.

Although the new version can read both new and old file formats, old versions of Shotlist cannot read the new format, so be sure to update all of your devices at the same time.

As always, both complaints and compliments are very welcome. Let us know if you experience any problems, using the Support button on the title page of the app, and we will do our very best to help.

roundedShotList works with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini running iOS6.1 and above. It is available now on the App Store.

ShotList 4.2 available on the App Store

shotlist4.2Today we are releasing version 4.2 of ShotList, our popular app that aims to bring a full production stripboard, and more, to your mobile device, allowing movie and video makers to organise and track their shoots on the go.

shotlist printsThis update fixes a nasty crash bug on the shots pages, and adds two new report pages to the PDF and print options-  a List Of Characters, and a List of Locations.

The Character list also contains information on how many, and exactly which, days each character is required for filming. This should be helpful when costing your project, or creating a “Day Out Of Days” report.

ShotList!- Plan Your Movie & Video Shoots Like A Pro

We are very excited to announce that our groundbreaking new app for movie and video production, ShotList, will be released later this month.

ShotList helps filmmakers of all levels to plan and track their shoots scene by scene, by bringing the “Production Stripboard” system used by movie industry pros for many years to iPhone and iPad for the very first time.

Enter as much or as little information as you need from the script for each scene, add photos of storyboards or locations from your photo library, and then move each “strip” around to fine-tune your shooting order. Being so mobile, and always with you, Shotlist enables you to instantly change plans whenever something unexpected crops up on the shoot. It also has a major rôle to play in tracking the completion status of each scene, or shot, on the day.

We plan to update and upgrade ShotList regularly, just as we have with our unique group email app “MailShot“, so we would love to hear your requests and suggestions for which features you’d like to see in the next version. Maybe a “day of days” report? a list of cast required for each day’s shooting? a report on which scenes were completed on a given day? Let us know.

ShotList will be available on the App Store later this month. Check out the app page for more details, and screenshots of what this essential app can do.

“Ultimate Charades” Released On The App Store Today

Our Suggestion Box app is getting great responses from those who have tried it, and it is finding all sorts of unforeseen uses (such as language teaching in Russia) due to its comprehensive customisation abilities. But it was always destined to be a fairly “niche” product, as it is aimed mainly at improvisers and drama students.

Ultimate Charades takes the customisation abilities of Suggestion Box, and applies them to one of the world’s all-time most popular party games – Charades. That customisation means you can remove any suggestions that aren’t relevant to you and your friends, and can add in the things you DO care about, such as the hit show or favourite celebrities of the moment, or even your friends and family themselves, making it a much more personal experience.

We have also put instructions for all sorts of game variations on the Ultimate Charades page, and answers to the most likely user questions on the support page.

Check it out on the App Store now.

Suggestion Box is live on the App Store

UPDATE: and I got my first review, a 5-star, without any funny
business required. Thank you “Pupslover”, whoever you are!
